We are Define Design Group, LLC, a general services Architecture firm in the Hillsdale neighborhood of the larger Anacostia community of Washington, DC, whose mission is to foster collaborations with our clients to provide well-thought out, creative, and practical designs that are sensitive to the client’s needs as well as to the potential impact to their communities.

Are
Carma A. Clark, AIA, NCARB
Operations Director
Carma earned both her Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee where she graduated cum laude. After graduation, she spent nearly 6 years in the Architecture industry, with a focus in the commercial office and multifamily residential markets. She’s worked on a variety of projects ranging from tenant interiors, core and shell, build-to-suit office buildings, 300+ unit apartment buildings, and high-end restaurants.
In 2016, Carma eagerly co-found Define Design Group in Anacostia with two colleagues. There, she directs the daily operations of the firm and manages multiple projects.
Carma holds her architect licenses in Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Sheldon Clark, AIA, NCARB
Marketing Director
Since graduating Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University in 2007, Sheldon has lived in the Washington Metropolitan area. He has extensively practiced in multi-family design and historic preservation as well as hospitality design.
In 2016, Sheldon decided to take the entrepreneurial spirit and knowledge he brought to growing other firms to co-found Define Design Group based in Anacostia.
Sheldon holds his architect licenses in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
